Alberto (Albert) San Juan Datu

Alberto (Albert/Berting), beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2023, at the age of 90 of natural cause. Born in the Philippines and migrated to Canada in 1988.

Albert was the cherished husband of Mariquena(Kenya), his second wife and a father to 10 children. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Renato, Lita, Lito(deceased), Eddie(deceased), Junior(deceased) and Linda and brother-in-law Toni and Waldo, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Albert is remembered by his friends and neighbors as caring and helpful, always happy to lend a helping hand. He was a shoe designer by trade and has previously worked at Spartan and De Asis shoe manufacturing in the Philippines.

Albert enjoyed playing cards and Mahjong with his friends on weekends. Also watching sports on TV. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Everyone will remember him for his savory Filipino dishes, he was an excellent cook.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and strength for all who mourn his passing.

A memorial mass will be held on October 6, 2023, from 11:30 AM- 12:30 PM at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, 21 Leith Hill Road North York Ontario. A small reception will be available at the church’s hall after the mass.
