ALEXANDRA LAHAIE 1983 – 2019 Alex slipped away uncharacteristically quietly in the early hours of Tuesday, March 19, 2019. We are devastated for the loss of the beautiful, vivacious, savvy and successful young woman of just a few years ago, who attracted people like magnets, and seemed to have the world by the tail. We will miss her great energy, creativity and passion, bossy cooking advice and contributions (but not the messy kitchen), Blue Jays enthusiasm, love of closing a sale, silliness and braggadocio. Addiction is the only prison where the locks are on the inside; it’s so sad that Alex couldn’t find the key. It gives us some comfort that her suffering is over.
Alex was loved by her partner, Scott Draves, mom and step-dad, Marie Henault and Rory Fox, step-mom Tara McLenaghen (Drew), sisters Olivia and Nicole, and brothers Jonathan (Savannah) and Christopher, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. It pleases us to think of Alex reunited with her father, the late Jim Lahaie, for whom she was the apple of his eye. A celebration of life will be held at Noon on April 6, at Eden Mills Community Hall, 104 York Street, Eden Mills, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, the families graciously suggest a donation in support of the Eden Mills Community Hall (EdenMills.ca/Donate), or the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto.
