Born on August 24, 1931 in Bikita, Zimbabwe Alois Phineas Mudisi (Baba) was a much loved son of a Methodist Preacher Jaison and First Lady Haruna Murakata who were married for 56 years. Mr. Mudisi was married to his sweetheart Anna Musara for 54 years. They lived in the city of Masvingo, Zimbabwe where they owned successful businesses.

Alois P. Mudisi (Baba) was a cancer surviver of 10 years. The disease suddenly got aggressive indicated by loss of appetite and bladder infection. He succumbed to the illness on May 8, 2021 at his residence in London Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Mudisi was a devout Catholic who made a huge impact in the local community and abroad imparting biblical wisdom & knowledge. Alois held many leadership roles at St. Don Bosco Church in Masvingo. He was a member of St. John Devine Roman Catholic Church in London, Canada. He made deep connections wherever he went and lived doing missions work as cited by witnesses and testimonies given by many individuals in UK, USA, and London, Canada. Mr. Mudisi was a wonderful father to his children and grandchildren. He was gentle giant, kind, loving, understanding and a great listener. He was an honorable man and a true gentleman and a real statesman.

Alois Mudisi was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 35 years! His healthcare career spanned from Bulawayo, Rusape and Masvingo General Hospital where he retired. Baba was an accomplished, versatile Nurse whose career training integrated skills and knowledge in all departments to include Med Surg, OR, ER, Dental and OB/GYN. Many referred to him as “vaChiremba” meaning Doctor! Throughout his career, many people in the local community, friends and relatives would visit his house some staying for days or weeks sometimes years seeking treatment at Masvingo General hospital where baba worked.

Baba will be remembered and deeply missed. He leaves behind six of his seven children, 18 of 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. His loss is felt by his brothers, sisters, his late wife’s immediate & extended family, friends, former work colleagues, Catholic communities all over the world; Zimbabwe, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States.

His remains will be repatriated to his home country of Zimbabwe where a private funeral service will be held. A public celebration of Mr. Alois Mudisi’s life will occur at a later date. Those wishing to make donations in his memory are asked to reach out any of his children listed below:
