The sun has set for Sonny …

Alphonse “Sonny” Durocher, at the age of 80 passed peacefully on May 7, 2022 surrounded by his cherished loved ones and in true Sonny fashion ~ on his terms!

Loving father of Sylvie, Patrick, Kelly-Anne, Amy and Kelly. Very proud grandfather of Emily, Brayden, Joshua,  Mackenzie, Kailea, and Peyton. Survived by sisters Agnès, Alma, Fernande, Françoise, Hélene, Irene, Marie-Anne and Thérese. Predeceased by his siblings Jeanine, Paul-Èmile, Réne, Rita; and parents Alma Durocher (née Laporte) and Émile Durocher. He will be fondly remembered by his nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Sonny will always be remembered as being the life of every party, a fun man who lived with pride. He’s known as “one of a kind” by all his friends, family and acquaintances.

His last wishes were granted and his body had been donated to U Ottawa for science. A small gathering will be held for his immediate family and his final resting place will be with his mom.

Remember him as you knew him and hold onto those memories to keep his spirt alive forever.
