It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, Amanda Nicole Sanders on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 38.
Amanda was born in Vancouver, B.C., and moved to Ontario at the age of 5. She spent her childhood in Victoria Harbour and attended Victoria Harbour Elementary School and Midland Secondary School, continuing her education in Child Psychology at Georgian College.
As a child Amanda was full of energy, she loved swimming on the Keegos swim team, cross-country running, playing soccer, drawing and doing crafts.
As a young adult Amanda’s greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her children. Amanda was always planning activities, games and outings for her children, she took every opportunity she had to spend time with them. All she ever wanted was for her children to be happy, cared for and loved.
Amanda suffered greatly with mental health and addiction issues. She was a beautiful, and intelligent child who fell into the grips of addiction and struggled for years trying to escape. Amanda wanted nothing more than to be a good mother for her children. She tried many times to overcome her addiction, wanting to return home and to her family. Let us all remember Amanda as she was before addiction overcame her, let us remember her as the caring, loving, happy and energetic woman she strived to be.
Amanda will be deeply missed and is survived by her children, Ayden, Kamden, Christian, Arianna, Jasmine and Sadie; sister Katherine (Sky), brothers Richard, and James (Brenna) and her parents Joanne and Matthew.
If friends so desire memoriam donations may be made to the Guest House or the Rosewood Shelter in Midland.
Friends and Family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Amanda at the Victoria Harbour Legion on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 3:30p.m. to 5:30p.m.
