Ana Isabel Ponce Nunez “Isabel” “Chave”, 94 years old, from Santiago, Chile, passed away Saturday March 16, 2024 in London, Ontario, Canada.
Daughter of Juan Bautista Ponce and Zunilda Ernestina Nunez, Isabel was one of twelve brothers and sisters, Juan Emilio (Nono), Zunilda (Tina), Luis (lucho), Carlos Eduardo (Lalito), Lucia, Teresa, Fernando, Alejandro (Jano), Cecilia y Patricio (Pato) who she adore and kept on her heart especially in the last years of her life. The memories of a beautiful childhood with them were vivid and the topic of long conversations.
Isabel was truly a force of nature, a free spirit and a determined fighter for the happiness and well being of her family. Her advice will live on in the hearts and minds of her family.
She followed her life partner, Rodolfo, to Peru in a new adventure where they worked hard and built a beautiful life for her two daughters. They also cultivated lifelong friendships in Lima enjoying happy gatherings filled with music and dancing.
In 1989 she took on another adventure and moved to Canada where she belonged to a Fitness club, a Seniors club where she met her best friend Olga (Tota), travelled to many countries with friends, and proudly volunteered for the Mississauga Valley Hospital for 12 years.
For the last 20 months she lived at Grandwood Park Retirement Centre where she enjoyed the company of the other residents and staff, participated in all the physical activities and entertainment, and enjoyed long walks around the residence gardens.
Isabel is survived by her two daughters Marina and Veronica, her sons in law Javier and Luis, five grandchildren Paula, Franco, Pamela, Johnny and Valeria and 10 great grandchildren, Nash, Benjamin, Ever, London, Alyssa, Anthony Jr., Teo, Jio, Odin and Rhea.
