Anita Marie Comeau

Anita ‘Wanita’ Marie Comeau passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 after her 2 year struggle with pancreatic cancer. Born on April 23, 1961 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, daughter to Carl and the late Doris (née Miloslavich). Anita was the eldest sister to Darrell (Jodi Hamilton), Sheila (Philip Landon), half-sister to Jason Radford (Renée Courville), and step-sister to Wayne Radford (Diana) and Tristan Radford (Nat). Anita was a generous aunt to Jordan & Eva, Max & Madeleine, Liam & Amelia, Cata & Brandon, and Spencer.

Anita had a lifelong career as a public servant with the Canada Revenue Agency, where she was involved in all aspects of workplace activities and was a devoted player in the CRA softball team. She met hundreds of people through her connection to CRA, and formed lifelong friendships with many of them.

Anita was passionate concert goer and life-long Springsteen fan who supported the local music scene at clubs and festivals. She contributed her encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture at countless trivia team events. After retirement, she forged new connections as she took up camping in her new trailer in Mallorytown, where she savoured summer nights of music, wine and fireside star-gazing.

A memorial gathering will be held to honour the memory of Anita on June 9, 2024, 1-4 pm at Northwest One Apartments (Party Room), 2625 Regina St., Ottawa, Ontario.

Donations to honour Anita’s memory can be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
