Anna Smolic

After a courageous battle for her life, the Lord called Anna Smolic home in her 89th year. Born on July 13, 1933 in Zapotok, Slovenia she passed away peacefully on July 18, 2022 at Trillium Health Partners, Mississauga Hospital. Anna faced life’s challenges with grace, resilience, and remarkable strength.

Our mother Anica was the heart of our family. Her daughter, Sonja Jagielnik, her son-in-law Joseph Jagielnik, and grandchildren Jolie and Daniel Jagielnik will miss her dearly. Her daughter Mary Smolic cherished her time with her mother and the bond they shared. We are grateful to the Lord for the blessing of her life. Her unconditional love and support will remain with us forever.

The family wishes to thank all the dedicated staff at Dom Lipa for caring for our mother for so many years. We are especially grateful to Dr. Elizabeth Kocmur, whose compassionate care helped our mom’s last years be so much better than we ever thought possible.

The family will welcome visitations on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Parish, 5440 Durie Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L5M 2J5 with the funeral mass to follow at 11:00 am.
