For those that truly knew Mom, humour was the connection.  Genuine, never one to ‘bite her tongue’, she definitely spoke her mind.  Independent and stubborn til the end, it was ‘the Zubek way’.  Always preferring outdoors to in, no matter the weather and with her legs barely holding her, she determinedly made it outside until her final few days. Sadly affecting Mom was the recent passing of Susan.  Being a big part of her grandchildrens’ lives, Melissa (and Clayton), Taylor, Tyler (and Caitlin), Ben and Adam are missing ‘Grandma’.  And, becoming ‘Great Grandma’ to Addison a little over a year and a half ago, Mom had new joy in her life!  Card games, cottage sunsets, coffee in an old percolator and animals that gravitated to her....a little bit of who she was and only some of the memories I’ll hold. One more ‘Jesus Christ!’ for the few that knew her best.
After defying years of debilitating pain, at 89 years old, on January 25th, 2021, the suffering finally stopped.  Love you Mom.  No chance of being forgotten.
