Anthony (Tony) Rocks

March 29, 1936 — March 6, 2022

Anthony (Tony) Rocks - born March 29,1936, died on March 6, 2022 at age 85 due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.  Tony was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1969, with his family joining him shortly thereafter.  He is predeceased by his mother, Eileen, and his father, Thomas.  He was the eldest of seven siblings and is survived by his sisters, Etna and Angela, and his brothers, Paddy, Gerry, Vincent, predeceased by Tom.  Fondly remembered by his five sons, Eamon, Brian (Cris), Brendan (Anita), Jeff, and Michael (Anujha) and their mothers, Marie and Elaine.  Loving Grandfather to Jessica, Lucas, Adam, Evan, Tristan, Caelum, Anne and Audrey.  Former spouse, Irene.

Tony was a member of the Toronto Police Service for 27 years, retiring on his 60th birthday.  For his contributions as a Police Officer, he was awarded an exemplary service medal from the Government of Canada.  He was an active church parishioner who enjoyed singing in the choir.  Special thanks to his private caregiver, Gloria, who cared for him tirelessly over the last two years. Tony loved his time with her.  Also, special thanks to the many other caregivers who provided daily assistance to Tony as his needs increased. Tony’s family is very grateful to you all.

Funeral arrangements placed in the care of Basic Funerals.

Visitation scheduled for Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 7 to 9 pm at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON.

Roman Catholic Funeral Mass scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1 pm at Holy Rosary Parish, 139 Martin Street, Milton, ON.
