It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Todd Trojek. Todd was born on June 9th, 1956, and passed away suddenly at home in Perth on July 13th, 2024. He was a loving father to Alex and Brittany (Hunter), grandfather to Owen, and husband to Heather. Todd will be deeply missed by his sister Tam, his nieces Amy (Jay) and Stephanie (Adam), his great niece and nephew Lily and Cash, his nephew Jan-Michael (Ashley), his brother Tim (Jan), the Turow family, and his beloved cats, Ben and Jerry. He is pre-deceased by his parents as well as his oldest brother, Terry (Debbie).
Although Todd was born with a severe hearing impairment, he never once let it stand in his way. He graduated from the Graphic Arts program at Humber College, and had a long and successful career as a graphic designer, illustrator, and cartoonist. Todd had a unique sense of humour and embraced many passions and hobbies, including cycling, swimming, kayaking, camping, and photography. He was a lover of music and an avid fan of Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Neil Young, whose work inspired Todd’s own musical pursuits on the piano and the acoustic guitar. Todd was also fascinated by warplanes, with a special interest in the Lancaster and the Mosquito, the plane his father Vlad navigated during the war. In honour of his passion and appreciation for these planes, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton.
Todd, please know that you are loved and will always be in our hearts and minds. Charities with special meaning to Todd include the Lanark Animal Welfare Society, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. A donation in Todd’s memory to one of these or any charity of your choice is greatly appreciated.
