"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die."
John 11:25-26

While he is absent from us he is present with the Lord and united with his wife. Survived by his loving children Melkon, Anjelle, Arev, Hagop, Bakraam, & Anoosh & their spouses, Seta, Hovsep, Vikin, Rita, George, & their grandchildren, Haiek, Hratch, Ankeen, Taleen, Annie, Maral, Massis, Alex, Aren, Mesya, Marina, Ovpet, & Rakelle.

Araam Merzoian was born in zakho, Iraq on July 1st 1931. Married to Azneve in 1959. They moved to Baghdad after getting married to establish their family, where they had the 6 of us. They moved to Canada 1997 to find freedom and to secure a safer life. Their brave act to move to a new country at an old age, exemplifies the kind of courage they had. Araam will always be remembered by his hard work, resilience and ambition. He had gone through many hardships in every stage of his life, From early childhood tending sheep with his father, to making fabrics, to becoming an electrician to have his own shop. He always provided for us in times of uncertainty. Dad was creative, smart, and skillful even with his limited education and literacy. He was gifted with many talents. But the most dear to his heart was the word of God. Dad spent hours learning and memorizing scriptures and pursued to become a deacon in 2003. And he installed all these principles in our lives since childhood. Dad loved his children and cared for them always. There was a major turning point in his life in the summer of 2006 when he had an open heart surgery. During which he encountered God in a vision which the lord gave him a mission to declare His goodness. Dad came out of it as a different person and he made a decision to dedicate his life to the Lord. He was appointed as an Archdeacon at St.Vartan Armenian church in 2009. The last 7-8 years of his life was an uphill battle as his wife(mother)suffered the consequences of a major stroke. He stayed close to her until her death in 2020. Araam trusted the Lord in all of his life and his last words was praise and adoration to His name. And we know that he has transitioned and is promoted to a better life in heaven because of the grace of God. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord, not even death. Love you mom and dad. Until we meet again.
