VARELAS Aristidis,
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aristidis (Ari) Varelas who was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and son. Ari suddenly passed away at the age of 51, leaving behind his loving family and many friends.
Ari was born on Feb 3, 1972 in Toronto and was the son of John (deceased) and Hariklia. He grew up in Toronto where he formed lasting friendships and developed a passion for solving complex construction related problems.
Ari pursued a successful career in Construction and Restoration where he made many valuable contributions and gained the respect of his colleagues. Despite his professional achievements, Ari always put his family first and was a devoted husband to his wife (Mina) and a loving father to his daughter aka his “baby girl” (Lia). As a father, Ari was an amazing role model who instilled values of hard work, perseverance, and determination in his daughter. He was always there to provide guidance and encouragement, and his daughter looked up to him as a hero.
Ari was a cherished son to his mother (Hariklia) and a beloved brother to his sibling (Peter). However, his roof extended and covered so many other brothers he gained through lasting friendship over the years. He was known for his honesty and directness, never afraid to speak his mind and always telling it like it is. Despite his straightforward nature, Ari had an enormously generous heart and spirit, and his absence will be felt by all who knew him. He was a loyal friend who always went out of his way to help those in need. If one can pick one word to describe Ari and what he embodied, it would be “Philotimo”!
May he rest in peace and may his memory be eternal.
Ari is survived by his wife Mina, his daughter Lia, mother Hariklia (John – deceased), brother Peter (Maria), sister-in-law Tina (Niko) nieces and nephews: Deanna, John, Katerina, Nasia and Theodore and mother-in-law Panayoula (Theodore – deceased).
