It is with great sorrow that we announce our beloved Audrey passed away peacefully in her loving husband's arms at Southlake Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Barbara (DavidJanway) and son Steven Rowe(Dana), Grandmother of Everett & Elliott Janway. They would remain at each other's side to the end.
Audrey suffered with Multiple Sclerosis all of her adult life. She never complained and remained an inspiration to those who knew all the effects of MS that she had suffered from and through. Audrey showed her indomitable spirit, grace and courage, tremendous strength of character when advised she had Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Cancer she stated "I can deal with this"!
Audrey is a rarity, endowed with unique qualities. Her sharp intellect tempered with a delightful sense of humour, a keen interest in people, accompanied by a sense of spiritualism, an empathic manner and wonderful smile endeared her to all she met, a true friend. Audrey's faith as a Christian and her interest in all religions, led her to studying the teachings of Buddha; allowing her to accept her cancer and her fate. Audrey tells everyone that she "Lives in the Moment" and that she has had a fabulous life with my wonderful loving partner/husband Ken.
Thanks go to all the doctors, nurses and staff of the Southlake Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit who cared for Audrey. Special thanks to Doctor(s), Arnell Baguio, Richard Nishikawa, Cory Carroll, the volunteers from Matthews House Hospice and the Canadian Cancer Society.
We especially thank our very special friends who never abandoned her or us.
In keeping with Audrey's wishes there is no visitation or formal service. A memoriam donation to Southlake Regional Health Centre Cancer Fund, Matthews House Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society would be thoughtful. A memorial service to celebrate Audrey's life will be held at a later date. The family requests that any pictures, anecdotes, or memories of Audrey be sent to our home.
