It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved Barbara Joyce Reid on July 4th after a courageous battle with cancer.
Barb was born November 3rd 1943 to John and Helen Condie in Toronto. After graduating from Ridgemont High School, she began her career as a secretary with S Directorate of the RCMP and later as an administrative assistant with Nortel and INAC Canada, which she so much enjoyed.
Barb was the loving wife and child-hood sweetheart of John for 56 years, and cherished mother of Jayme, who was the light of her life. Catfish will be sorely missed by her brother John Condie and sister-in-law Anne. Barb had an immense passion for family and was a proud Auntie to Karen Hill (Bill Brannen), David Hill, and Scot (Jayme) and Ryan Condie; and one of her greatest joys was being Great Auntie to Mike and Kelly Brannen, Carter and Nash Condie, and Noa Oliveira-Hill.
She enjoyed dancing, traveling and, of course, Coronation Street. After she retired, she spent her time at her favorite past-times – our backyard pool, shopping, working on puzzles and being with family.
Predeceased by her sister, Lynn Hill in 2018, brother-in-law Ron Hill in 2008; and her parents John and Helen Condie (nee Barchuck) in 1985 and 2006 respectively.
Those who knew her know she hated being fussed over and would rather give than receive. In lieu of funeral services, and to honour Barb's wishes, we ask that all who wish to participate make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
