Barrington Earl Burgher, known to family and friends as Barry, passed away in the early afternoon of Saturday 4, 2020 of complications related to advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease.
He is lovingly remembered by his close companion and phenomenally devoted caregiver Thelma Foster, daughter Sharon Burgher, pre-deceased by his son Shaun Burgher, adored granddaughter Cherina Burgher, Jadeya Burgher, Davinda Burgher, Ashlee Burgher, Khalil Burgher, Chania Burgher, great-grand daughter Sophie Baril, sons Daron and Rene Burgher, sisters Claudette Wallace, Sybil Burgher, nephews Tony and Adrian Wallace, cousins Audrey (Peaches) Burgher, Connie, Patrick Burgher to name but a few...he has touched many lives spread out over Canada, Jamaica, the US and the UK.
He was extremely generous, and always had the time to help each and everyone one of us when he was needed. He had magnificent conversational skills and was a great listener.
He cared selflessly and often single handedly for his wife Leceeta Burgher in her final years before she succumbed to Alzheimer's as well.
An ardent follower of politics and lover of history (especially Caribbean) he loved a good long conversation over his beloved Jamaican white rum or a good Heineken.
He fostered curiousity and instilled a love of the the arts and learning in his children.
Due to the current world wild circumstance, a funeral cannot be held until a later date. We will be holding a joyful celebration of life, hopefully in Jamaica.
Barry, you are sorely missed and you will live on in our hearts and spirits. You richly deserve to rest in peace.
