It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, Barry “Harland” Jackson, on Monday, July 16th, 2018 at the age of 69.
Barry was born in Nova Scotia and raised in Levack, Ontario. Upon graduating from the Ontario College of Art, he was a designer colorist at Sunworthy, a technician in the fabric weaving studio at the Sheridan School of Design and taught at Ryerson Polytechnic University for 25 years. In his retirement years, he worked as a Corporate Host in Brookfield Place in downtown Toronto.
Predeceased by his parents Ross and Blanche Jackson, he will be forever lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his four sisters, Marny (Peter) Pollard, Joanne (Joe, predeceased) MacLeod, Wanda (Alan) Jackson, and Vicki (Barry) Scully. He was the proud uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He will always be remembered for his dedication to his family and many friends, his caring and compassionate nature, his creative and artistic ability and especially his wonderful sense of humour.
An informal Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Anyone wishing to honour Harley’s memory is welcome to join us at Pegasus On Church, 489B Church Street, Toronto (2nd floor) on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 5:00pm.
