Bartek Szeszula

Bartlomiej aka Bartek Szeszula, born August 9, 1971 in Warsaw Poland, passed away on July 1, 2024, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He is deeply mourned by his parents, Michal and Elizabeth Szeszula, and his loving wife Julia, with whom he shared nearly 27 years of cherished memories.

Bartek met Julia when she was just 15, and they formed an unbreakable bond that lasted a lifetime. Their love story culminated in a wedding on May 25, 2024, at Camp Maple Leaf on Jacob Island, a testament to Bartek’s enduring spirit and his deep desire to create lasting memories for his family, even as he faced his illness.

Bartek was a devoted father to his six-year-old son, Jacob. His unconditional love and commitment to Jacob were evident in every aspect of his life. Bartek took great comfort in knowing that Jacob and Julia would be supported by the caring community of Gilda’s Club, which provided him with reassurance and solace.

Though Bartek and Julia faced many challenges, their life together was filled with profound love and respect. Bartek’s warmth, humour, and kindness touched everyone who knew him.

Bartek is survived by his parents, his wife Julia, his son Jacob and a host of friends who will remember him for his strength, his laughter, and his unwavering dedication to his family.

A celebration of Bartek’s life will be held on August 17th 2024 at The Shaw House on Ward's Island Toronto at 1pm. Please bring a picnic or snack to share and a memory of Bartek. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bartek's honour to Gilda’s Club Toronto, an organization that held a special place in Bartek’s heart.

Bartek’s legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
