Today we celebrate the life of Bertalan Miklos Mezo, born Feb. 4th, 1930, who passed May20th in Toronto, awaiting his wife, Judith and eldest son Bert Jurnior in heaven. A free spirit, with a larger than life personality, Bert would light up a room with his charming presence and animated tales of life, past and present. His generous heart and witty sense of humour will be sorely missed by his son, Gabor, grandchildren Natalie, Max, Ella, Alexia, daughter in law Erika, brother in law Imre (Beverley) and many friends. Bert was the perennial National Champion of Hungary in ski jumping before he fled the revolution in 1956. He was a superior athlete and excelled at many sports including his passions as a successful university coach and gym teacher. “I did it my way” was his life-long personal anthem, which explained his bold and charismatic character. His family and friends will miss him deeply.
