IN MEMORY OF BETTE PAGE (nee Sowerby)
Jan. 2, 1924 – Feb. 13, 2015

Bette passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of Feb.13, 2015. Beloved wife of Ron Page, who passed away last April. She will be dearly missed by sister Edna, her children Tim Page, Kimora Page (Brock), Shelley Ampah (Mark), and Pamela Page (Sasan), grandsons Trevor, Darren (1st great- grandchild Piper), and Cameron Page, Breton (Aimee), Calan and Lucas Hamilton, Oko Ampah and her only grand-daughter, Akwele Ampah and her little dog, Dobby. She will also be remembered fondly by other extended family and friends from near and far.

Words cannot begin to describe what a beautiful person she was inside and out. She always dressed elegantly and her smile would light up a room. She was gracious, compassionate, generous, kind, loved people and animals and was a devoted wife (63 years of marriage) and mother (grand & great). We will all miss her wonderful sense of humour. She was feisty too and always ready and willing to stand up for injustices or in the defense of others.

She was born in Yorkshire, England. Emigrated to Canada in 1954 with her husband Ron, and 2 small children.Over their years in Canada the family lived in Nobel, Deep River, Oakville, Caledon, Brampton Ont. She was very involved in community life in Deep River as a member of the fencing, yacht, curling and ski club (just to name a few). She loved the arts. Her door was always open to anyone or any animal in need. She went back to college in 1971 to become an audio visual technician shortly after their move to Oakville, Ont. She worked for many years as a technician in the English and Computer Dept. at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. She was ever so proud of receiving her Bachelor of Arts (General Psychology) from the University of Waterloo in 1994 at the age of 70!!.

According to Bette’s wishes, she will be cremated. There will be no formal service. A celebration of Bette’s life will be held by the family at a later date. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Faith Manor, Holland Christian Homes of Brampton, Ontario for Bette’s care and comfort since October 2012.
