So much thanks for those who cared for her at Trillium Hospital and the McCall Center.
Born July 22, 1930. Not in Toronto, but in the USA, while her wonderful mother, Gladys Pelvin, Trotter, Guthrie, Ermatinger, was on a business trip in Detroit Michigan, and therefore Betty enjoyed a dual citizenship during her exciting life.
Betty lived in the West end of Toronto for most of her youth, joining the Boulevard Club at age 17, and worked in the fashion industry where she flourished.
She relocated to Florida when her husband Jack Coomber retired from IBM, and he started a new career with the Morgan Yacht Company. Florida was her favourite place on the planet. She had a rewarding and much appreciated career when Gayfers opened a mega department store there, and Betty managed the fashion department for 10 years, specializing in youth. Betty wrote many articles for the local papers where she encouraged many and guided thousands to current and wise fashion choices. Betty also had a US Real Estate License but never relied on this for her income.
Betty was devastated when Jack passed away in Florida but the world was soon brighter when she and George Warren got married and “ lived the life “ with homes in Florida and Toronto. She maintained her life membership at the Boulevard Club but now enjoyed the same with the National Yacht Club where George was a life member.
Betty had the deepest love and respect for her mother, Gladys, and was always very protective of her, watching out for her, and longing to be like her. . a goal that no one could reach, not even Betty.
Betty is now reunited with her mother, where peace and joy will flood every moment. No more pain, no more tears.
A private family service only is planned.
