January 5, 1936 — October 3, 2019

On October 3, 2019 Beverley (Bev) Kirkpatrick, 83yrs, of Bracebridge, passed away peacefully. She is predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Kirkpatrick.
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, friend and always a teacher she left a treasure trove of memories. She leaves behind her family; Beth Kirkpatrick, Lynn & Bruce Watson, and Judy & John Howse. She was so proud of her five grandchildren and their partners; Katie, Erin, Heather & John, Lisa & Mark, and Dylan. She will be sadly missed by her brother Wilf/Buster and his family Ellen, Jeff, and Jennifer as well as her siblings Chester & Joyce and Judy & Grant, and her many friends.
Mom and Dad were happily married for 53 years ! They were fortunate to enjoy frequent travel but their heart was close to home at the family cottage on Leonard Lake. When Mom retired from teaching the grandkids said she had to because she had taught everything she knew. She was a faithful member of Bracebridge United Church and thoroughly enjoyed sharing words of wisdom with the kids she supported in Kenya. She loved to sing and cut a record "Give me a little Kiss" when she was young. Mom was a perpetual reader, a feminist, an ardent Ottawa Roughrider/Redblacks and Blue Jay fan, a costume maker, a book club member, a figure skating super fan, and she always won at Scrabble. She made the best butter tarts, pies, and tea biscuits.
She will be missed.
A memorial will be held at Glen Abbey United Church, 1469 Nottinghill Gate, Oakville, Ont on Tuesday Oct 8th at 1pm. Reception to follow.
The teacher in her never truly retired and her involvement with children's education was passionate and unwavering. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to First Book Canada whose mission is to transform the lives of children in need by improving access to quality education.
