It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Beverly lost her short battle with cancer on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
Beverly was the devoted wife to Greg Lemieux. She was a loving mother to Tiffany (Sheldon) and chosen mother to Robin. Beverly was the cherished grandmother to Taylor and Tyson and will be missed so deeply by then all. She will also be so very missed by her beloved cat Scooter. Beverly is predeceased by her parents William and Gilbert Hazel. As well as her siblings Lynn, Gail and Billy.
Beverly loved all her nieces and nephews Tina, Jeff, Melissa, Micheal, Kyle, Casey, Ashley, Beth, Janice, Matt, Jason, Robbie, Sophie, Geordie, Duncan, Jeremy, Matthew.
Beverly was a proud member of the Lemieux family and will be missed by Luke (Michelle) Louis (Barbara) Eric and Peter.
Beverly grew up in Sandy Hill Ottawa and attended the High School of Commerce. She was a regular on Saturday Date for 2 years and grew up singing with her sister Lynn.
Beverly had a tremendous impact on the people around her for her caring and supportive nature. By being so, she has left behind a tremendous amount of friends that are all deeply affected by her unexpected passing. Beverly was always someone you wanted to have in your corner as she was someone who gave her all to helping those she loved and had a way of doing things with gusto and grace. Beverly had a great life filled with deep connections and lasting memories. Most filled with laughter and love. Beverly loved a few things that will always spark a smile from those who knew her well. She loved cats and Santana and birthdays spent on the beach. She loved dancing and music and gatherings of friends and family. There were so many holiday dinners and parties through the years that always had her striving to impress her guests. There were years of travel with the Halden’s and many stories were had from those that she cherished.
Beverly was the proud owner of Glass With Class for years where she had been working hard and having a great time as well. She is remembered on her street by neighbours, that have become best friends, as the blonde with the big white car driving down the street like she owned it.
Beverly was always the one call for sound advice and guidance. She was always the one you could trust as a confidant. She was the person who took friends and turned them into family. She wanted to focus on the positive whenever possible. She took a problem and found the solutions.
Beverly will leave behind a big void for many. Most of all, I know she hopes to leave behind a legacy of integrity, kindness and most of all compassion. If we can take something from what we had in our lives with Beverly let it be, to lead with some of what she taught us by just being herself.
Beverly’s family wants to thank Sharon Halden for her unwavering support and commitment in Beverly’s last days. Bev always treasured your friendship and sisterhood through the years and was honoured to have you by her side during this difficult time. You were and continue to be a pillar of strength - as said by Beverly herself, countless times- for her family in this time of pain and grief.
The staff at the Ottawa General Hospital namely Nurse Danielle and the Palliative Care Team were kind and generous during her time there.
Lastly, Beverly loved kitties and enjoyed rescuing and helping whenever possible. She would be honoured to have her loved ones donate and support her favourite rescue. The Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue in Cornwall Ontario/
There will be a memorial service. Location date and time to come.
