It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Matthew Wilson announce his peaceful passing on December 17, 2024 surrounded by family.
Brian will be remembered by his wife of 44 years, Sharon; children, Kelly (Peter Hill) and Sean; grandchildren, Ethan, Owen and Lucy; brother, Kevin (Sandra Allen); and numerous other family members, nieces and nephews, friends and community members. Brian was predeceased by his parents Norman and Catherine.
Brian was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and immense sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with the knowledge gained through his various life experiences. Brian’s spirit and generosity continued beyond his family. He has been a pillar in his community for over 40 years volunteering with youth bowling, Cubs, antique car shows, Kemptville Live, many charitable events throughout Kemptville and the surrounding area, as well as the proud announcer for the Kemptville 73s home games. But his favourite job will always be making everyone smile as the great Santa Claus.
Brian loved sports. He played hockey in his younger years followed by baseball and bowling into the later years. He loved to watch his children play and cheer them on in everything they did. He was their biggest supporter, but nothing brought him more joy than watching his grandkids do the same.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Kemptville hospital, Winchester cancer centre and the Bayshore palliative care team.
Please join us January 5, 2025 between 11 am - 1 pm to celebrate Brian’s tremendous life at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, followed by a memorial Kemptville 73’s game at 2 pm.
