Bruce Edgar Morton

Peacefully, after a brief struggle with his kidneys and finally his heart, Bruce passed away at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON on Thursday, September 21st, 2023, just two months before his 88th birthday.

Bruce was a devoted husband to his wife of 20 years, Susan Eileen Harrison. He was a loving father to Robert James Morton, David Keith Morton, Donald Gordon Morton, and Ross Paul Morton. Loving  stepfather to Matthew James Harrison and Mark Donald Harrison (Nathania). Survived by brother Doug Morton, brother in law Jim Newitt (Connie) and Sister in law Judy Harrison. Bruce was incredibly proud of his 13 grandchildren: Robert James, Cheryl Anne, Corrie Lee, Andrew David, Deidre Kristina Katherine, Brandon Michael, Leah Marie, Heather Ashley Morton and Amanda Elizabeth Morton, Danielle Katherine Macaskill, James Donald, Rachel Jane, Aidan Matthew and his many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Bruce was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Elizabeth Morton, and his Granddaughter Lauren Morton.

He cherished the time he spent with his family and enjoyed receiving regular updates and pictures.

Bruce's faith was demonstrated through his constant smile, kind words, and helpful nature towards his family and friends. He was a man of many talents and found joy in spending time with his buddies, making wine with Brian, wearing his hat, fishing, watching hockey and baseball, sharing silly jokes on his laptop, going on thirteen cruises, enjoying our home in Florida, travelling anywhere, taking trips to the casino, working with his hands, and making an effort to gather with loved ones.

His memory will be cherished by his extended family and numerous friends. During this time of bereavement, Sue and family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the love and kindness shown by our family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heart and Stroke or Kidney Foundation.
