Bryan William Anderson
After a long illness Bryan finally found peace December 14, 2107. Bryan was born in London, England, and was the son of the late Henry (Harry) Anderson and Jessica Weller. Bryan will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 56 years Olive (Bonnett), daughter Jane (John) Sears and son Simon (Sally); his grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick), Daniel (NaRae), Michael (Shauna), Clare, and Christopher (Renata); and Great-Grandchildren Alexandra, Chelsea and Sara as well as his sister Carol (David) Hobden and many nieces and nephews including Richard (Petra). Bryan was predeceased by his parents, his brother Terry and his nephew Michael.
Bryan spent many years in the Royal Navy before settling into civilian life first as a milkman and then as a sales person in London. Bryan and Olive retired to Canada to join their daughter Jane and her family many years ago. Bryan’s long-term passion was cricket both as a player when he was younger then an avid supporter in later years. He had travelled to South Africa to support the England team as well as many trips to ‘The Oval’ and other grounds in England. Throughout his illness he was able to enjoy cricket matches on the television and became an expert at planning his recordings to catch the international matches at times that were better for watching.
Olive was the love of his life and they shared a life full of laughter and true companionship. Being surrounded by his family brought him great joy and he was happiest playing board games with Alex or teaching her new card games.
A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and other staff of the Champlain CCAC who have been so caring over the past year and enabled him to stay at home and still receive excellent medical care. A private service will be held for family. Donations may be made in Bryan’s memory to Hospice Care Ottawa.
