Burton Wayne Hamilton

Burton Wayne Hamilton, 86, of Burlington ON, passed peacefully into God’s care on August 24, 2023.

He was born December 24, 1936, to Isaac and Gladys Hamilton of Sarnia, Ontario.

Burt is survived by his wife Janet (of Bradford PA), son Mark, daughter Dr. Michelle Kathleen (Hamilton-Page), son and daughter-in-law Todd & Gillian (Ready), grandson Wyatt, and brother and sister-in-law Tom & Catherine.

During his long career, Burt served as a church pastor in Hamilton ON, Brockport NY, Ottawa ON, and Burlington ON. He also taught English and was a guidance counsellor at Burlington Central High School. For 17 years he was head of guidance at Streetsville Secondary School, from which he retired in 1998.

Burt founded Park Academy (Burlington ON) in 1975, where he acted as principal for several years. After retirement he returned as principal from 1998-2001.

Burt was a mentor to many and served on boards of directors of various churches and charitable Christian organizations.

Visitation will take place at West Highland Baptist Church.

Wednesday, September 6 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and on Thursday, September 7 from 11-noon.

A service of celebration will follow on September 7, 2023 at Noon, also at West Highland.
