We lost our beloved Carmen on February 23, as a result of an aortic aneurysm.
He was pre-deceased by parents, Giuseppe and Maria Dodaro.
He is survived by his siblings, Frank (Teresa), Tina and Rose, 6 nephews, 3 nieces, 10 great nephews and 3 great nieces.
Anyone who knew Carmen would describe him as the guy who ALWAYS had a big smile on his face, had a kind heart and treated everyone with kindness.
His biggest passion was sailing and had fulfilled his passion when he purchased his 48 foot, one bedroom baby which had been his home for the last 30 plus years.
Carmen started out in his late teens as an auto mechanic, fulfilling his passion for cars. In his early 20's, he took his career in a completely different direction and became a hair stylist. Working in a high end hair salon in Toronto, he fulfilled another one of his passions... meeting a plethora of beautiful women and connecting with wonderful people. Somehow, he found time to study Art and Literature at York University and then also studied Italian Literature at the University of Florence, Italy. From there, Carmen moved on to working as a hairstylist in the entertainment industry. He worked on set for commercials, films and The Miss Canada Pageants. While working in the industry, Carmen got the itch to direct and produce. He gave up hair styling and started his own production company. He wrote, directed and produced many commercials, as well as documentaries in Fiji and another in Africa. He also worked as a freelance camera man for a Toronto News network for a short time. Carmen also had a passion for writing and at the time of his death was in talks, pitching a movie that he had finally finished writing. He still had a lot of plans and dreams. We will continue to talk about him and keep his memory alive.
A memorial/celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
Thank you for keeping our brother in your thoughts and prayers ❤️
We love you Carmen. You're forever sailing in paradise
