Carole Delaney

December 15, 1934 — January 29, 2013

Carole Delaney (nee Lepot) died Tuesday, of complications related to Alzheimer’s.  She was born December 15th, 1934 to the late Henri Leonard Lepot of Ottawa and Agnes (Nancy) Alston of Scotland. She is survived by her three daughters Dr. Kathleen Delaney (Dr. Jacek Kwiecien) , Laura Delaney (John Taft) and Alison Delaney (Steve Seamans), her five grandchildren Gabrielle, Bryce, Christian, Liam and Finn, as well as her former husband James Donald Delaney and her sisters Shirley D’Allmen (Fred) and Doreen Gardner. A native Montrealer, Carole spent many years as a successful Real Estate agent in the Laurentians north of Montreal and later in the Westmount area. She was the life of a party, a gourmet cook, a talented seamstress and enjoyed traveling the world in the years before becoming ill. Carole loved sharing white wine with her girlfriends, taking long walks on Treasure Cay Beach or in the hills of Westmount and never missed an occasion to dress up or wear one of her famous hats. She fought a long and courageous battle against a devastating disease and was a force to be reckoned with to the end. Family and friends are welcome to join in a celebration of her life at her memorial service, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23rd, at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington, ON. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that you donate to her favorite children’s charities which made such a difference in the lives of two of her grandchildren: “Finn’s Fund” at Children’s National Medical Center (cardiology unit) in Washington, or “Gaby’s Fund”, at the Montreal Children’s Hospital (Cardiology unit) in Montreal.
