Celina Pereira

Celina passed away peacefully at Michael Garren Hospital, Toronto on August 11, 2020.

Celina was a very kind lady with a heart of gold. She would do anything possible to help someone in need in spite of not having much to offer. Her family can attest to this fact.

She was a woman of few words, but her actions spoke volumes. She migrated to Toronto by herself from her hometown in Tanzania back in the 80’s and worked hard to support her mum financially who remained back home. There was nothing more important to her than her mum, close family members (which included her near and dear cousins who lived overseas) and above all God.

On her days off from her work as a school crossing guard in her later years, she would spend several hours in the local library reading – that was her favorite hobby. She enjoyed reading suspense novels and keeping up with the latest headlines. Her favorite pastime was working on crossword puzzles. Besides reading, she loved listening to music.

Celina will be missed dearly.

Due to the COVID-19 situation there will be no visitation or service.
