In Loving Memory of Charles (Klaas) Ferkranus
November 9, 1951 – April 15, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Charles aka Chuck (Klaas) Ferkranus, a beloved father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, who departed this life on April 15, 2025 at the age of 73. He lived with purpose, compassion, and an unshakable faith as a devoted Christian.
Charles was a man of conviction, passion, and generosity. Qualities that defined his every endeavor. As a co founder of Alliston Christian School, he poured his heart into shaping young minds through faith-based education, believing in the power of knowledge rooted in values. His professional life was equally inspiring; as CEO of International Image Services Inc., he led with vision, integrity, and a deep commitment to excellence.
A man of many passions, Charles found joy in the simple and the extraordinary. He had a deep love for soccer and golf. Games that brought him both peace and camaraderie. He had an adventurous spirit, often traveling internationally, always eager to explore new cultures and share stories from his journeys.
Family was his heart. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether it was through laughter, storytelling, or quiet conversation. His car rides, often spontaneous and always meaningful were filled with wisdom, music, and treasured memories. In later years, one of his greatest joys were scenic car rides. Peaceful moments on winding roads, shared stories, quiet reflection. These drives were more than just travel; they were rituals of connection and memory making.
Those who knew him well will remember his thoughtful advice, shared freely and with sincerity, as well as his unwavering advocacy for Long Term Care residents, a cause he championed with compassion and strength.
He was also a man of words, a writer at heart, who found joy in putting pen to paper, capturing the beauty of life through stories, reflections, and faith.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Southlake Residential Care Village for their outstanding care, kindness, and support. Your compassion and dedication brought great comfort during his final chapter, and we are forever grateful.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Charles’s legacy will live on in every life he touched, in the lessons he taught, and in the love, he gave so freely. He is survived by his three daughters, his son, eight grandkids and seven siblings. All will carry forward his spirit with love, faith, and gratitude.
Be at peace and fear nothing. Be content and want for nothing. – Charles Ferkranus
Statement of Faith:
Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day 1
Q: What is your only comfort in life and death?
A: That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul both in life and death, to my Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation.
Therefore, by his Holy Spirit he also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for him.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made in memory of Charles to Alliston Christian School or Southlake Residential Care Village.
