Chia-Hsein Chung (November 20th, 1938 – September 29th, 2022)
Chia-Hsein Chung passed away at Scarborough General Hospital on Thursday, September 29th, 2022.
Chia was born in Yangmei, Taiwan and was one of twelve children. He married Hsiu-In Kao in 1966 and soon welcomed their first child, Ping. In 1968, Chia immigrated to Canada where he worked at Inco Mines in Thompson, Manitoba. Shortly after arriving in Thompson, the family expanded with the birth of their daughter Patricia Tsae-Shing. He was a courageous man who pursued his dreams of bettering himself and his family.
After living in Manitoba for 5 years, the family moved to Toronto, where Chia began working for Ontario Hydro. After working there for over a decade he moved to Molson breweries where he worked as an Instrumental Mechanic and remained there until his retirement in 2003.
Throughout the years, Chia enjoyed fixing electronics, reading, and spending time with family and friends. While Chia was a dedicated worker, he was also a dedicated family man with simple needs. He was a very giving person with a hearty laugh and contagious smile. Chia is survived by his wife Hsiu-In; their children Ping and Pat (Jeff); and two grandchildren Aiden and Lachlan.
Please join us in honouring Chia’s life on October 8th, 2022 from 2:30pm-4:30pm at Forest Lawn Chapel, 4570 Yonge Street, North York, Ontario
