Chris Hughes

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Chris Joseph Hughes, age 61. He died peacefully at the Montfort hospital in the early hours of Jan 9, 2024 from a long battle with Huntington’s disease.

 

Chris was a lively man who loved the outdoors. He was happiest on the river catching some fish or taking photographs of wildlife. He loved cars and driving through the mountains. Chris adored trucking and often brought his kids on long hauls throughout the west coast. He also enjoyed sitting back with his feet up watching a good action film. He was brave and creative. Constantly creating and building things like model cars. He had a kind soul and wore his heart on his sleeve. He will be truly missed by many.

 

Deeply loved father of Bill (Michelle), Matthew (Alyssa) and Krista (John). Adored grandfather to 9 grandchildren; Ava, Theo, Karina, Jemma, Willow, Maverick, Maddox, Hunter, and Lily.

 

He is survived by his brother Ronald (Chantal) and Glynice (Dan). Predeceased by siblings Margaret Ann, Gordon Jr. and parents, Gordon Sr. and Simonne. Remembered by nieces, nephews and extended family.
