COUTSOYANNOPOULOS Christos,
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christos Coutsoyannopoulos on February 12, 2024, at the age of 71.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Despina and his loving and devoted children Diana (Ari), Elaine, and Dimitrios. He was an everyday presence and was adored by granddaughters Evangeline and Despina, who will miss him greatly. He will be greatly missed by his brother and best friend Tony (Michelle), his nieces and nephew Melissa (Grant), Angela (Joey) and Dimitri, and his sister-in-law Anta (Dimitris). He also leaves behind many family and friends who love him very much.
Son of Dimitrios and Adamantia (both pre-deceased), Chris was born in Athens, Greece on May 28, 1952. He immigrated to Canada in 1968, where he established his family, career as a chef, and an extensive network of family and friends. He was a devoted family man and never failed to provide love, encouragement and support whenever needed.
He leaves a legacy of love and kindness. He treated everyone with the utmost respect and was known for his gentle disposition and his bright, big, genuine smile. This wonderful example was set for his children and grandchildren who will strive to continue this legacy.
He spent the last few summers in Pakia, Greece living his best life with his grandchildren and catching up with family and friends. He was very much looking forward to returning this summer. He loved calling and checking in on everyone, near and far. Staying connected was a priority for him day to day.
His family would like to thank the Chronic Kidney Disease unit at SHN and the Nosokomeio Molaon Dialysis Unit for taking care of him over the past few years.
Gone too soon but will never be forgotten. May his memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in Chris’ memory, https://kidney.akaraisin.com/.../generald.../donations/start
