MORRIS, Clarence Joseph - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Clancy Morris one day shy of his 78th birthday at The Royal Victoria Hospital on June 18th, 2018. Husband to his beloved wife Gloria of 49 years and cherished Father to Andrea (Kevin) and Meredith. Brother to Mildred Carswell (Ottawa). From his humble beginnings, Clancy was a true blue “car guy”. Throughout his early careers at City Hall, Falconbridge, C.J. Morris Insurance, R.L. Gougeon Insurance and the Mandarin Hotel, he always dabbled in cars on the side. When an opportunity arose to become a Ford dealer in Elliot Lake he packed up “Glor” and the girls and Morris Ford Mercury was born. This was the beginning of a lifetime in the automotive industry. Clancy also owned and operated Central Nissan (Sudbury), Great Lakes Toyota (Sault Ste. Marie), Sudbury Hyundai and Simcoe County Chrysler (Orillia). Both of Clancy’s daughters walked proudly in their Father’s footsteps in the automotive industry with Andrea working alongside her Father for 23 years at Simcoe County Chrysler until its sale in November 2017 and Meredith purchasing Sudbury Hyundai from her parents in 2009 after working there since 2002. “CJ” had a tough exterior but those close to him got to see his love of animals and his compassion for those less fortunate. He was often the life of the party and he took great pleasure in riding his motorcycle or a cruise with the top down in one of his many collectible cars with Gloria sitting next to him saying “slow down!” To quote Clancy’s last words “I’ll see you in the next life and I wish you a happy and bright future”. We hope Clancy is bombing around with friends that passed before him, in his ’57 T-Bird with the top down. At Clancy’s request there will be no service. Special thanks to Dr. Dave Collins (Orillia) for many years of friendship and care and the cardiac team at RVH. Donations to the RVH Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.funeralhome.on.ca
