VATERS, CODY MICHAEL JAMES June 1, 1990 - July 24, 2021 A great son, brother, nephew, friend, passed away tragically in Mississauga on July 24th, 2021, age 31 years. Cody was a loving, caring, old soul who was an accomplished writer, poet, and musician with an excellent sense of humour and a laugh that could light up a room. Cody was always writing, he was never further than two feet from his pen and notebook in case inspiration struck and never went on a holiday without sharing his insightful poetry, short stories and books to his loved ones. Cody received inspiration for his poems and short stories from his favourite artist, Gord Downie and through his love of nature, where he took long walks in parks and would sit in his favourite spots with a coffee and write for hours. Whether it be rain, sunshine, plants, puddles or pets, Cody found the beauty in the simple things, within every aspect of life, whether it be grabbing coffee or giving family a warm hug, his grammy said he gave the best hugs she’d ever had. He loved to visit Newfoundland and enjoyed fishing, gazing at the open sea and connecting with his Newfoundland roots. Growing up, Cody was very close to his mother, father and two brothers who were all attached at the hip, enjoying family vacations, spending quality time and drinking by the backyard pool. Cody was and always will be deeply loved and will never be forgotten. Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his parents John and Glenda Irvine, brother Kyle Vaters (Britny), Scott Irvine. Grandmother Glenna Irvine, Uncle Brian Irvine (Laurie), Uncle Ken Irvine (Tom Simpson), Auntie Dianne Coffey (Don), Uncle Wayne Brett (Janice), Uncle Lloyd Brett (Lily), Auntie Yvonne Richards (Gene), Uncle Barry Brett (Jackie), Auntie Lorraine Brett (Greg Miller), Auntie Sherrie Snow (Steve). Grandfather Henry Vaters (Betty), Aunt Bev Yetman (Gerald), Aunt Annette Arbour (Glenn), Aunt Gloria Vaters, Uncle Colin Vaters (Michelle) and a very large circle of cousins, friends and family.
