Colin Donaldson

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce that on Friday, February 9th, 2024, Colin Donaldson passed away peacefully at the age of 65, surrounded by his beloved family, whom he cherished more than anything. 

Colin leaves behind his loving wife Soraya Donaldson (nee Sanatgar); his two cherished children: Steven (Amy) Donaldson and Ashley (David) Donaldson; his 3 beautiful granddaughters: Brooke, Leigha, and Evely; his brothers: Ken (Monica) Donaldson and Rob (Lucy) Donaldson; and his loving nephews and niece. Colin is predeceased by his parents Alexander and Catherine Donaldson.

The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Colin. He adored spending time with Soraya, Ashley, and Steven (with granddaughters in tow) as well as playing golf and volleyball with his crews. He loved taking  in the scenery with trips on his Harley, and enjoyed refueling with Coors Light and chocolate chip cookies. He was a social butterfly and kept friends from many parts of his life. 

Colin was set to retire this year from his multi-decade employment at Label Inc. (formerly The Label Factory) where he leaves behind a crew of peers scratching their heads on how to fix and MacGyver things the way he miraculously always could. He had a magical way of knowing how to build or fix anything, but also had a scrappy way of finding things and giving them life again. It was rare to see Colin upset or angry, he had such a relaxed way about living life. He wasn’t the kind of guy that would necessarily give someone the shirt off his own back, but rather he would go find them multiple shirts of their own to wear instead. He may have had a grumpy exterior (resting Grandpa face), but it was very easy to induce smiles and laughter, especially after some of those Coors Lights, or if his grand-girls were around. 

Though he has left us, Colin will live on. His silliness and constant singing will live on through his daughter, Ashley. His love for motorcycles and fixing things will live on through his son, Steven. Soraya will continue their Coronation Street traditions and will now hold their children and grandchildren for them both. In addition, every single person he knew will carry the memories and moments they had with him. 

Colin will be honoured in a celebration of life on March 10th, 2024 from 1-4pm in one of the many places you could find him socializing, Shoeless Joes,  located in Georgetown.
