Celebrating the life of DARREL GEORGE BARTLEY

SUNRISE JUNE 23, 1957 – SUNSET FEBRUARY 10, 2022

Sadly, Darrel George Bartley affectionately known as Zagga passed away on February 10, 2022 at Michael Garron hospital in Toronto. He was the 10th child of 14 children and the second of 3 boys.

Darrel is survived by 6 of his 7 children: Calla McFarlane, Karen Bartley, Trace Fisher-Bartley (Junior), Kahalia Audria Bartley, Lakeeba Kellion Bartley (Meg), Darrel Bartley Jr., their respective spouses and many grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Olive, Adolph, Daphney, Hyacinth, Yvonne, Elaine, Llorna, Pat, Dawn, Dannie and Carol.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ivy Mae Blake & Henry Bartley, his sisters Margaret & Joyce and his first born son, Trevor. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Darrel George Bartley passed away at the tender age of 64. He was one of the funniest people you would ever meet. His storytelling was vivid and could hold your attention for hours. He found more joy in giving than receiving and was kind to a fault.

Though he may not have attained all he desired, he was always trying. He was an avid reader, loved jeopardy and any thing that was knowledge based. He was a deep thinker, a lifelong learner and could have a conversation about any subject matter including politics, economics, sports, mathematics, and science. He also had the best penmanship one has ever seen.

We love you and will miss you Darrel aka Zagga!

Therefore, my family and friends, in the midst of life there is death, therefore remember me always with love and laughter, not with tears.
