As a descendant of United Empire Loyalists, he always admired the Queen of England.

He will be best remembered as a devoted husband, father,  and friend . He represented what is good in the world like family first and caring about your neighbours. As a father he taught his sons to be respectful of others.  He always insisted that you do it right or don’t do it at all. He devoted many years to the Masons as they portrayed his feelings and caring through their contributions to society. He made many friends and life long bonds. These are the lodges he belonged to: Ivy Lodge # 115 in Beamsville (home lodge), Mount Moriah Chapter # 19, Plantagenet Preceptory # 8, Pyramid Council #7 (Cryptic Rite) , Seymour York Rite College #185 and Scottish Rite .

During his career he worked at GM St. Catharines in many plants as a Pipe Fitter. Dave was a great supporter of his two sons endeavours. His hobbies included computer solitaire, coin and stamp collecting and was an avid bowler in his day. He was an avid sports fan especially Pittsburghs’ teams  He always had a great sense of humour. He loved his dog Holly but didn’t want to say he loved his cats Tina, Russell, Georgia and Chara, but he did. He also loved his neighbours and had great times with their families over the years. Our family would like to thank all the PSW workers, health care teams, Dr. Andy Lam, Dr. James Woodland (his family doctor) ,the staff at the Royal Victorian Hospital and Grimsby Memorial Hospital for their care and kindness over the past years.

He was cremated and will lie to rest at Vineland Cemetery Trust (older part) together with his son Steven Edward Cornelius, along side his family in July of this year. A ceremony will take place at grave site with a Celebration of Life for both of them following at location to be announced.
