David Lloyd Martin

December 17, 1957 – December 27, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of David Lloyd Martin – dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend – announce his passing on December 27, 2022, at the age of 65.

David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years Mary; children: Amanda (Robert) and Jessica (Jonathan); grandchildren: Isabelle, Elise, Benoit, Austin and Dean; brothers: Doug (Laurie) and Paul; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and his hunting friends. He was predeceased by his father Lloyd and survived by his mother Shirley.

David was a family man with a big heart. An auto body repairer by trade, turned dedicated stay at home dad. Friends may remember David on the baseball field with his daughters teaching them strong work ethic, while embodying the work hard, play hard mentality. He was always the first to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbours. After his father passed in 2001, David spent a great deal of time helping to care for his mother. In the past year of his life, he was a dedicated papa to his first grandson Dean.

Donations in his honour can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society (Barrie location).

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will take place this spring.
