In loving memory of Dave McLachlan, who passed away November 3, 2021 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at age 83.
Dave was born April 23rd, 1938 in Sudbury as the first son of Percy & Blanche (née Campbell) McLachlan. After graduating from Michigan Tech, he married his Sudbury sweetheart; Marjorie Rose Williamson, a registered nurse and the love of Dave’s life for 59 years.
His greatest love was family. He was forever proud of Marge and their children; David (Kim), Barb (Derek) and Allison. He was dearly loved by his grandchildren, whom he gladly spoiled - Kelly & Abbey McLachlan, Ryan & Justin Tilly and Rowan & Wyatt Van Allen.
Dave was the brother of Dennis (deceased) & wife Jeannie McLachlan, brother-in-law of Mike (deceased) & Pat Costigan, Robert & Marca Williamson and Dewar & Effie Williamson (both deceased). ‘Uncle Dave’ will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and family friends.
Dave retired from the Ford Motor Company where he had made many lifelong friends and built a successful career in Labour Relations. Dave always loved a great game. Whether it was his enduring hockey career with Sudbury High School, Michigan Tech and of course, the Oakville Old Tommers, his long-time membership at the Oakville Golf Club, or his more recent passion for playing bridge; Dave loved to compete.
An incredible husband, dad, grandad and friend; he filled our lives with love and laughter.
As per Dave’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, attended by family only. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dave to the charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the McLachlan family
