We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of DAVID EDWARD JAMIESON (Coyote) age 73 at Credit Valley Hospital, with his wife LESLIE LALONDE at his side. Born in Campbellton NB, moved on to Montreal but spent most of his life in Mississauga ON. Survived by his daughter Christine Lalonde and wife.
A truck driver with enormous experience across North America for over 50 years, the stories he could tell; he regrets not keeping a camera handy all those years. Last few decades he was in the tradeshow, convention centers & concert business. If you’ve ever been to the One of a Kind Show, Boots n’ Hearts, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, Tennis Canada, Canada Blooms and more, you would have met Dave. He could back a truck and trailer into the tightest spots – at night.
When he wasn’t driving, he spent time working and sailing his boat “Coyote”, he loved that 1965 wood Trojan. With his wife, daughter and 2 Jack Russells they spent 2 decades cruising around Ontario. There is always a “happy hour” somewhere. Last trip was taking the “Canadian” train across Canada, that was amazing for him; one off his bucket list.
He had a big family, his parents were Elisabeth Marks Jamieson Page (deceased 2010) and James Jamieson (deceased 1962). Eight siblings: Marcia Dixon, Jim Jamieson, Wayne Jamieson, Kathy Jamieson, Tim Jamieson, John Jamieson, Debbie Friesen, Alan Jamieson. Many spouses, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
He will be missed terribly. Never complained, no matter how much his medical issues became, the big silent type. Still expecting him to come through the front door, never missed a supper.
Flowers weren’t Dave’s thing but the family did work and contribute to food banks; you choose one near you and many families would appreciate it at this time. There will be no funeral because cremation will take place. Once families can get together again, we will spread his ashes in Montreal, next to his mom, and have a celebration of life.
