Dean MacIntyre, 65, passed suddenly at his home in Brampton, Ontario, in July, 2024.
Dean was born on March 9th, 1959 to Joan and Roy MacIntyre, in Weston, Ontario. Dean’s early passion and talent for carpentry were nurtured by his father, and summers were often spent in Prince Edward Island, helping his uncle Lee with the family farm. This passion turned into a career in both carpentry and construction. Highly sought after in his field, Dean’s talents were applied in a career spanning over forty years.
He had a magnetic personality, and was well known for his wit, charm, and charisma. Dean made an impression on everyone he met, and was beloved by family, friends, and coworkers alike. Outside of carpentry, he loved nature, photography, films, reading, and was known to wake up the neighbourhood when he played Def Leppard on Saturday mornings. Dean was especially a fan of classic movies, a passion he passed on to his children. He loved his family deeply, and was always available to help anyone no matter how small or large the problem, and often without a moment’s notice.
Dean is survived by his two children, Mark (Elizabeth) and Kai, siblings Kim, Paul, and Todd, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Joan, his father Roy, and sisters Adele and Karen.
To honour Dean, the MacIntyre family will receive their friends and family for a Celebration of Life Service at the Glen Eagle Golf Club, 15731 Regional Road 50, Bolton, Ontario, L7E 3H9 on Saturday, August 17 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon in the View Room. Following the service, a reception with light refreshments will take place until 3 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to a volunteer organization that helps dogs find loving homes, such as texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org
