Deborah Arlene (Trethowan) Smith

Passed away on March 1, 2022. She will be lovingly missed by her spouse of 53 years, Bryson Smith. Devoted mother of Robin (Janice Smith), and Stephanie (Brian Cassell). Deborah was the biggest fan of her grandchildren, aka "Grandma's Heroes", Danielle, Emma, Nathan, Sierra, Brooke, and Amber. Deborah is survived by her sisters Paula Findlay, and Pamela Lafrance, as well as her brother, Bruce Trethowan. Deborah was pre-deceased by her parents, the late John and Vera (Dale) Trethowan of Ottawa.

Deborah was a dedicated elementary school teacher for 34 years. She shared an enthusiasm for learning with her students and always strived for excellence. She loved gardening, especially her red and white geraniums. She enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with her spouse where they enjoyed the spectacular shows. Most importantly, Deborah was invested in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She was always immersed in their athletic ventures and academic successes.

A burial will take place in the spring at Dale's Cemetery, 2960 Old Montréal Road, Cumberland.
