Dee was born in England to Jim and Dorothy Stephenson. A well-travelled only child, at the age of three she moved with her parents to Angola, Africa where they stayed between Lobito and Luanda.
Much of her early years were spent in Cape Town, South Africa where she attended boarding school at St. Cyprians, but when Dee was at home she enjoyed spending time with her cat Sheena and dachshunds Tonico & Typhie.
The family returned to England in the early 60’s, and after high school she got a job at the Daily Express in London.
Looking for a new adventure, Dee headed to Canada in 1967 and there she met a fellow boarder in her rooming house, an Irishman named Robert. They were married in the winter of 1968.
The couple moved to Mississauga in 1970 and had two daughters, Lisa and Debbie. Dee was a stay-at-home mom until the girls were older, and then she enjoyed working as an accounting clerk.
She loved cats, gardening, watching All My Children & the Olympics, and celebrating Christmas at the Almagon Lodge.
Dee will be sadly missed by her entire family, including grandsons Daniel, Connor, Tyler and Dylan.
