It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Dennis Carr. He left us unexpectedly on Friday, September 6, 2024, leaving a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Cherished husband of Dorothy/Dodie Carr (née Bannon), his true partner in life. He was the devoted father of Melissa Thomson (née Carr) and her husband Kevin Thomson, Shannon Flavin (née Carr) and her husband Andrew Flavin, and Ashley McCallum (née Carr) and her husband Andrew McCallum. A proud and loving grandfather, he was adored by his grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Lucas, and Brielle, who brought him endless joy and pride.
He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Ethel Carr along with brother Peter Carr. Beloved brother to Charmaine Knott and her husband Simon Knott, and the cherished uncle of Justin Knott (Stephanie Knott) and Jessica Harasymchuk (Kevin Harasymchuk).
He was predeceased by his dear in-laws James and Dorothy Bannon and sister in law Ann Bannon. He was loved by his brothers and sisters in laws Jim Bannon (Candy), Mary O’Flaherty (Gerry), Donald Bannon (Marion), Doug Bannon (Laura), Terry Bannon, Carol Ramage (Brian), Bert Bannon, Patrick Bannon (Tena), Colleen Bannon. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Dennis was a man of few words, and always found a way to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He was a man of great character, known for his kindness, warmth, and unwavering dedication to his family. His gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will remain in our hearts forever. His sudden departure has left a hole in our lives, but his spirit will continue to guide us. We find comfort in knowing he is at peace and watching over us .
A celebration of life will be announced once arrangements have been finalized.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.
He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
