Desiree Browne-Johnson

Our Queen and Matriarch fought a great battle but God knew best. It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announced the passing of our beloved Mother, Wife and Grandmother Desiree Browne-Johnson at the Owen Sound Hospital.

Desiree Browne-Johnson  was born on April 03,1950 in Georgetown Guyana to the late Fitz Ward and Yvonne Browne. She was the loving wife of Edmond Johnson and devoted mother to Yonette, Eucy and Alston. Loving grandmother to Ezekiel, Philon-Desiree, Daniel, Alou, Daciel, Joshua, Matthew, Naiomi, Abbia, Isaiah and Alston. Great grandmother to Nathaniel, Aquena and Traniya. Sister to the late Joseph, Gregory, Donna, Debra, late Alden and Lynn. Mother in Law to Philip, Lorraine and Aneiesa. Caring and loving friend to many.

Desiree was deeply loved and described by everyone who knew her as kind, intelligent, caring and incredibly giving woman. Her heart and her home were open to anyone who needed a meal or a place to stay. Her smile would light up every single room she entered. She loved animals and always had a soft spot for strays.

Desiree was a great singer and in her younger years sang with a band. She had dreamt of becoming a singer but life other plans. She knew from early that she wanted to be her own boss so she set out to make it happen. She was one of the best hairdresser in the community. She was always looking for an opportunity to do business. That led her to Bourda Market where she became a successful business owner. Until her death she would still be thinking about what business she can get into. She would surely be missed by her loving family.

Sleep on my beautiful soul. Until we meet again. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts. This is not goodbye we will meet again. Love you forever.
