Bonner (Koskinen) Desiree Karrina Claudette
Peacefully at Ottawa General Hospital, after a lengthly and courageous battle with cancer,
surrounded by her family, on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the age of 51. Beloved wife of Michael,
cherished mother of Joshua and Jarod. Predeceased by her mother Airi Koski. Survived by her
brother, Michael King (Krista), niece Brittney, nephews Tyler and Nicholas. Sister-in-law Angela
Wright (David deceased), niece Megan and nephew Matthew. Loved dearly by her mother-in-law,
Margaret (Roger deceased). Also lovingly remembered by her cousins, extended family and friends.
Sadly missed by her dogs Raider, Timber, and Whiskey.
Desiree was a graduate nurse and worked for many years at the Lions Gate Hospital, North
Vancouver, the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa. She served
with 744 Communications Regiment, Vancouver, for 10 years and was a member of the Busting Out
Dragon Boat Team Ottawa.
Desiree will be remembered as a fighter when battling her cancers, a hard worker and her willingness
to help others. She was very creative, knitting, crocheting, making cakes and cupcakes for her family
and friends when needed. A short time ago, to keep busy, she started painting in oils and acrylics
producing some beautiful gifts.
A special thank you to the many doctors and nurses of the Ottawa General Hospital, the Ottawa
Civic Hospital and the Queensway Carleton Hospital who cared for Desiree during her 8 years as a
Private burial in the Spring. Celebration of Life will be announced. For April
