Rotstein, Diane, Louise passed away peacefully at Christie Gardens in Toronto on July 25, 2017 in her 82nd year. Beloved sister of Gloria Treash, mother of Daniel and Eve, mother-in-law to Azeema and Theo. Loving Nana to Maya, Charlotte and Lev.
Diane arrived in Toronto from the U.S. following a job offer in hematology at the Princess Margaret Hospital. She cared about people and community. She was active in the 70s in municipal politics and worked closely with Jane Jacobs and others to stop the Spadina Expressway, saving many green spaces and neighborhoods in downtown Toronto. She was also chair of the Annex Ratepayers Association. She then took a job with the CBC as a radio producer on Metro Morning and later worked at Ryerson - CJRT, producing courses for college on the radio. She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and large circle of friends.
The family will receive friends for a memorial at the TORONTO NECROPOLIS, 200 Winchester St., Toronto, ON, M4X 1B7 (at her urn space - Section E #594 - near main entrance) on Saturday, August 5th at 2:00 p.m. In memory, donations to Epilepsy Ontario (http://epilepsyontario.org/donate/), would be greatly appreciated.
