Donald Edgar Cartwright

March 11, 1953 – February 12, 2024

It is with great sadness that Don's family announces his passing. Peacefully surrounded by his family, Don passed away at 70, after a courageous battle with cancer. Don will be lovingly remembered by his children, Victoria-Lynn, Christel (Bill), and Jonathan. Papa will be greatly missed by his granddaughter, Abagayle and is remembered by his mom, Emily Irene Cartwright (nee Kerr). Don is predeceased by his dad, Edgar Charles Cartwright and son Donald Jr.

Fur Papa Don has joined grand kitties Casper and Marley Joy and grand dogs Diesel and Echo. He is missed daily by grand kitty Diesel Jake and grand dogs Diesel Jr and Echo Jr. He will be missed and remembered with love by his siblings; Doug (passed) (Nadene), Dennis (Wendy-passed), Debbie (Brian), and Dale (John), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

He will be fondly remembered for his love of cars, action movies, and family. He enjoyed taking his family on adventures, whether camping, going to the trailer, the amusement park, seeing fireworks or travelling across Canada. The honest mechanic will live in our hearts forever.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Rosalyn Anne Juergens and her team at Juravinski Cancer Centre (Hamilton Health Sciences) and Dr. Debbie Selby, the nurses and staff at K3 East and K1C at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for all their care and compassion.
